Thank you for submitting your manuscript, number EQE-16-XXX, entitled “XXX” for possible publication in XXX. Because the topic of the paper falls within the scope of the journal, I browsed through it with interest. Unfortunately, I find it inappropriate in its present form for the journal.
The paper tries to develop a new type of friction pendulum system, and the effectiveness of the proposed isolation device is examined numerically. The history of this type of research is long, and numerous physical applications have been implemented in various places in the world. With such maturity in mind for both research and practice, the paper adds very little to further advancement of the concerned area of engineering. The authors shall show clear evidence through physical testing in a realistic size. In summary, the paper in the current form is judged not sufficiently in depth or general to justify it in an archival journal. For this reason, I hereby unsubmit the paper.
