This manuscript studies the fluorescence quenching of metal ions in solution thus treating an interesting subject. The Introduction and, to some extent, also the Discussion of the Results rely on text previously published. This overlap is not recommended or acceptable. Also the subject has been considered before in a recent publication in the Envir. Sci. Pollution (2016). In this present version the manuscript is not recommended for publication. The suggestion is that the authors revise the manuscript avoiding text overlap and that the manuscript be reviewed again.
