I recently submitted a manuscript to Science of the Total Environment. I also selected the Editor-in-Chief as the handling editor. The statuses that I experienced are:

Under Review: 05-28-2016
Under Editor Evaluation: 06-10-2016
Under Editor Evaluation: 06-12-2016
Under Editor Evaluation: 06-18-2016
Revise: 06-18-2016
The editor is super fast! Right after receiving the reviewer comments, the decision is made. I got a Major revision.

12 pt. Ususlly three referres. But i got four. Not sure whether the editor requires a good english. I think it depends on the reviewers.
