Please be advised that equations are written in a language called Office Math Markup Language which differs from the standard MathML format.  Although EES does support Microsoft Office documents, it cannot read the Office Math Markup Language (or OMML) and therefore distorts the equation(s).

As a workaround I suggest removing your source Word files for the time being, converting the Word document (.docx file) to a .pdf, locally, and then resubmit the paper using the .pdf.  Please keep your source file safe as this will be requested at a later stage if your work is accepted.

PLEASE NOTE: You are urged to follow the Guide for Authors carefully. Following very closely the instructions for corrections before re-submission will enable your paper to have the best chance of success.
