Four-Year Research Fellow Positions available in Singapore on Lasers and X-ray Optics
A national program on X-ray Photonics is launched in Singapore. This program is to develop new generation X-ray coherent sources and high resolution X-ray imaging systems to challenge the science frontier. We are seeking candidates to fill several positions in the following areas. The selected candidates will be provided with attractive remuneration package subject to skills and experience.
Research Fellows/Senior Research Fellows in high power ultrafast fiber laser
1 position on the development of mJ-level fiber lasers
1 position on the development of high power cryogenic amplifiers
The candidates should have good laser-physics background and experience in development of high power and/or ultrafast fiber laser sources. Mid-infrared laser optics background is preferred. Interested candidatures should contact Dr. Yu Xia, directly by email (xyu@simtech.a-star.edu.sg).
Research Fellows/Senior Research Fellows in high power ultrafast solid-state lasers
The job scope includes the development of infrared high power femtosecond lasers, optical parametric amplifier, chirped pulse amplifier and compressor. The candidates should have solid-state ultrafast laser and nonlinear optics background. Experimental experience in optical parametric amplification and chirped pulse amplification is preferred. Interested candidatures should contact Dr. Liang Houkun, directly by email (hkliang@simtech.a-star.edu.sg).
Research Fellows/Senior Research Fellows in high harmonic generation for XUV/X-ray
Two positions are open to candidates with expertise in the area(s) of ultrafast (fs to as) laser, high harmonic generation (HHG), electron-light interaction, high-field physics, and XUV optics, in experiments or theories. Additional experimental experience on vacuum system design and development of photon-electron-spectroscopy is an advantage. Interested candidatures should contact Dr. Li Hao, directly by email (hli@simtech.a-star.edu.sg).
Research Fellows/Senior Research Fellows in coherent diffraction imaging
We are seeking a candidate for the development of high resolution tomography system using ultrafast coherent light source. A specific goal of this position is to develop a tomography system with three-dimensional sub-10 nm resolution. The research fellow would be involved in the development imaging techniques and algorithms required for achieving the project objectives. Candidates should possess
Knowledge on optics theory particularly in diffractive optics
Instrumentation experience in laser imaging / microscopy
Added advantage if candidate have experience in X-ray phase contrast imaging / X-ray microscopy
Interested applicants should contact Dr. Seck Hon Luen, directly by email (hlseck@simtech.a-star.edu.sg).
Research Fellows/Senior Research Fellows in Light-Matter Interactions and X-ray/Accelerator Physics
We are seeking a candidate who is highly competent in theoretical and computational physics, and who possesses a strong background in one or more of the following fields: light-matter interactions, X-ray and accelerator physics, plasma physics, high-energy physics. The role of the research fellow will be to work on both applied and fundamental research problems oriented towards the ultimate goal of designing compact and high-quality X-ray laser sources. The project is performed in close collaboration with research groups at MIT and DESY, Hamburg. Interested candidates should contact Dr. Wong Liang Jie (wonglj@SIMTech.a-star.edu.sg).
