with a strong interest in ultra-fast laser spectroscopy on biological and chemical system

suggested topics:
1 High resolution microscopy with temporally shaped and spatially modulated femtosecond light pulses.
2 Vibrational dynamics of hydrogen bonds in inter- and intramolecular hydrogen bonded systems.

1) Setup of nonlinear optical experiments
Performing ultrafast time-resolved experiments in the visible and infrared spectral region
Tracking of photo-isomerization reactions in real-time
Analysis of complex dynamical data sets
Performing 2D-IR experiments

2)  Taylored photoreactions with shaped pulses
Performing ultrafast time-resolved experiments in the visible and infrared spectral region
Multi-photon microscopy on biological tissues with spatio-temporal shaped pulses
Analysis of complex dynamical datasets

your profiles
obligatory:
You held or will hold before enrollment a recognized Master level degree in one of the natural sciences  
You have outstanding hands-on EXPERIMENTAL experience in at least two of following fields:
1 nonlinear optics, esp. NOPA, IR-OPA and frequency conversion.
2 vibrational spectrum analysis,
3 ultra-fast infra-red spectroscopy,
4 pump-probe techniques, and

optional:
Furthermore, you have basic concepts in
1 chromophore
2 coordination chemistry
3 Quantum chemistry
4 programming in matlab, LabVIEW or python, and
5 scientific writing and presentation
