The Department of Chemistry and Environmental Science at New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) is searching for qualified applications for a postdoctoral research associate position in the areas of environmental microbiology and biotechnology. Ideal applicants should possess solid academic background and proficient laboratory experience on microbial cultivation and characterization, biomolecular techniques (e.g., genetic modification and quantification, metagenomics, single cell analysis), and analytical instrumentation (e.g., GC/MS and LC/MS/MS), as well as experience with design and operation of bench-scale membrane bioreactors (MBR).  Applicants with PhD degrees in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering and other relevant disciplines will be preferred. Excellent English communication and writing skills are highly desirable.   

The review process will commence immediately until the position is filled. The successful candidate is expected to start no later than August 2019, and will receive competitive monthly wages and benefits. Initial contract is one-year and renewable depending on performance and availability of funding.
