编辑的意见如上，背景换成透明的或是白色的是什么意思？这图也没背景啊，是把彩色的图换成黑白的吗？要求Z轴怎么改？画出Z轴的刻度吗？可图上有啊？还是画出X-Z,Y-Z轴交叉的地方？

你把完整的图发上来，这个图首先没有颜色的标尺。要3D也没什么用，所以编辑让你做成2d视图，扣掉背景，感觉你的背景并不是纯白的，好像是灰色的。要么变成白的，要么就扣掉变成透明的。
还有就是编辑暗示如果这样的图打印出来，颜色对比肯定效果不明显。还是让你做个从黑到白的标尺。
还有就是你的图是从软件里生成的，效果不好，让你用AFM的图像，质量会高很多。

单色打印时，你的第二个方案里的图 + 黑->白 z坐标轴 是错误的
所以建议你：(i) present 2D views only, using a transparent or white background;
用2D 或者把蓝色部分背景色改成白色，使得整个z轴变成一个渐变色（单色时）。
还有就是原图ppi太低 等等
