【翻译有奖7】每周一译——欢迎参与

    有奖翻译第七期又更新出来啦，希望继续大家支持喔！希望大家在翻译的过程中能学到一些地道的表达。所有翻译的材料均取自正规的材料，经过精挑细选，整理出来供大家翻译。

    翻译讲求“脱离原语语言外壳”，先理解英文意思后，再用自己的话将其表达出来。

    答案要求：内容保真；句子通顺；符合汉语语法规则；拒绝雷同（如果我在线，会及时屏蔽掉大家的回复）

    1.        It didn’t take long for Manuel García Murillo, a bricklayer who took over as mayor here last June, to realize that his town was in trouble.

    2.        Just as the health department was about to close down the day care center because it didn’t have a proper kitchen, Bernardo Benítez, a construction worker, offered to put up the walls and the tiles free.

    3.        Every Sunday now, the residents of this town in southwest Spain — young and old — do what needs to be done, whether it is cleaning the streets, raking the leaves, unclogging culverts or planting trees in the park.

    4.        Higuera de la Serena, a cluster of about 900 houses surrounded by farmland, and traditionally dependent on pig farming and olives, got swept up in the giddy days of the construction boom.

    5.        And when someone is ill, volunteers have to step in or the gym and sports complex — open four hours a day — must close.
