Steel matrix composites reinforcement were produced by TIG melting mixture of reduced iron, boron carbide powder, borax and Fe-based self-melting alloy powders.And researched the effect of SiO2,which is the best active flux,on the microstructure and wear resistance cladding.The results show that there was formed FeB2 in the cladding layer,and hardness was significantly increased. Abrasive wear resistance, adhesion resistance and erosion resistance of TIG cladding layer were increased 4.0 times, 2.7 times, 2.8 times than the substrate;but A-TIG cladding layer were increased 5.1 times,3.0 times,3.5 times.
