[求助] 求分析一个词 已有2人参与

He is hewing out of the stone of despair a piece of precious gold.
他试图从绝望之石中开采出希望之金
第二个of怎么理解啊 什么词性什么用法啊
另外hewing out of the stone可以换成hewing the stone out吗 为什么 求指点！！

Of  is  used to state specifically which thing of the general type mentioned you are referring to .
Such as :       the city of New York
                        the art of painting
                    the problem of unemployment
当然  of   在这里是一个介词     

原句可以变为   He is hewing  a piece of precious gold out of the stone of despair  或者 He is hewing  a piece of precious gold from the stone of despair
所以   hewing out of the stone不可以可以换成hewing the stone out

感谢回答 你改写的句子结构上比原句容易理解多了
原句中 如果省略定语of despair 就剩下
He is hewing out of the stone a piece of precious gold.
为何会the stone和 a piece of precious gold两个名词没有任何连接
或者是我理解有误吗

这个就像句中的直接宾语和间接宾语一样   比如  你可以说  I  gave the man  a  piece of  cake    也可以说  I   gave a piece of cake  to the man
