a Select at least three substantially different ionization principles that are used to introduce solutes of varying nature (small organics vs. large biomolecules, non- polar vs. polar, etc) into a mass spectrometer and discuss each of these in relation to a) their ability to produce gas phase ions of solutes of different molecular size, b) the level of fragmentation resulting from the processes and c) how the gas phase ions eventually detected by the mass spectrometer can be used to unravel the identity of solutes. (5 p) b Describe, preferably with the aid of figures (if you ”borrow” these from a book or from the Internet, please do not forget to give a proper reference) the operational principles of most commonly encountered mass analysers (sector instruments, quadrupoles including ion traps, time-of-flight based measurements, and FT-ICR) that are used in MS. Round off by a short discussion of the relative merits of these mass filter principles (here a table might be useful) in terms of mass resolution and MW limit, in relation to the cost and complexity of their operation. |

A 选择至少3种不同的可以分别适用于不同性质（小分子有机化合物vs生物大分子；极性vs非极性，等）的物质离子化进入质谱的离子化原理。并且讨论每一种离子化原理 a 对于不同分子大小产生气相中离子的能力 b 在这一过程中可以产生几级碎片 c 为什么最后被质谱检测到的气相离子可以对物质进行定性的。 B 通过数据（如果你获得的数据来自书本活着网络，请不要忘了合理的注释）描述常见质谱质量分析器（扇形质谱、带离子阱的四级杆、时间飞行质谱、傅立叶变换离子回旋共振质谱仪）的操作原理。并在最后对不同质量分析器在分辨率、质量范围、造价和操作复杂性上的相对优劣做简单的讨论（表格可能会更有效）。 |
