Aluminum (Al) film was electron beam evaporated onto the different substrates used in these studies. These include silicon (100) wafer, carbon nanotube array, and polystyrene microbeads array fabricated on silicon. The thickness of Al film was varied from5mmto1.2 ím to control the concentration of Al(OH)4 in the hydrothermal synthesis. Zinc acetate was employed in the experiment as the Zn source, and the pH was adjusted to 10 using NH4OH.
