I¡¯m working on a new journal called Data in Brief that is collaborating with Gene and see that you are actively revising your XXXXX, ¡°XXXXXXXX¡±.
I wanted to invite you to consider converting your supplementary data (or parts of it) into a Data in Brief article for our new Open Access journal of the same name. If your research article is accepted, the Data in Brief article would be published simultaneously.
Data in Briefs ensure that your data, which would otherwise be buried in supplementary material, is actively curated, formatted, indexed, given a DOI and publicly available to all upon publication. We make sure that both your research article and Data in Brief are able to cite and link to each other so that readers will more easily be able to find all of your work. You can get a better overview of the ins and outs of Data in Brief at the FAQ page and see examples of published Data in Brief on Science Direct.
Simply fill in the attached template, and when you submit your revised manuscript to XXXXX, submit your Data in Brief too. Please bundle this document with any associated data files (whichever supplementary or alternative data files you¡¯d like to include) in a .zip and upload as a ¡°Data in Brief¡±. The Open Access fee for a Data in Brief article is $250 and includes 5 additional, transferable vouchers to publish Data in Brief articles for free in the following 3 months. To request a need-based discount or waiver, please directly contact the publisher at dib@elsevier.com. |
