E Me/MeZ+, represents the upper limit of the stability range of a 3D Me bulk phase. on foreign substrate: the Nernst equilibrium potential, E Me/MeZ+, represents the limit of the stability ranges of both 2D and 3D Me phases. At E = E Me/MeZ+, 2D and 3D Me phases coexist. Consequently, underpotential deposition (UPD) and overpotential deposition (OPD) of Me on S are connected with the formation of 2D and 3D Me phases, respectively. |
