[交流] 修改文章，请教一句英文的翻译

前一段时间投了篇英文文章，现在需要修改。有一个审稿人的一句话不太明白是什么意思，还请哪位英语高人给看一下是什么意思，怎么翻译？
There are a lot of catalysts described for the title reaction, therefore the authors have to justify short communication by a careful description of the state of the art (comparison with the best known catalysts in activity, selectivity, stability, reusability etc.).
