    Doctors in Scotland tracked 15,000 middele-aged people for twenty-eight years. They found people in higher social classes were    (6)    less likely to smoke. However ,more than four in ten still smoke   (7)    . But wealth offers no protection from diseases linked to smoking. Across all social classes, men and women who smoke were two to three times as likely to die from lung cancer.
