I guess pasture here means the opposite of future. If i am right, it will have a pretty romantic and sorrow meaning, which might be translated as "If we cant see each other again, we will only be  together in our memory. "

This is a way to say goodbye or rather, so long. Guess people see each other quite a lot in the pasture with horses (they are all cowboys).
In Chinese, one may, perhaps, borrow something from (not too literally, please) the famous poet
"Yu jun libie yi, tongshi huan youren"
That is, "The moment I have to say goodbye on parting, it feels we both wander around for a life seeking..."

Is this meant to be a riddle? At first glance, I thought it was an utterance for fun, because "future" and "pasture" rhyme and whoever says it may not be taken literally.  But if it is a riddle, what is it? A word? Then if "u" is not seen in "future", it would be "ftre" and "u" is seen in "pasture", it would be "pasture". Doesn't make sense. Can't get it. I fail.  On second thoughts, what cannot be seen in "future" can be seen in "pasture", it would be "pas", which is not an eligible word. Fail again!

It is a funny way to say good bye.
Pasture is how country people refer to being buried.

Another friend of mine gave me a even more detailed explanation of pasture.
She told me long time ago, pasture was referred to a special field for disabled or aged horses.
These horses spent all their life working for their owners and thus they deserve to be awarded.

They then are fed on the pasture on which they have more than enough food to eat.
But being sent to pasture also means the horse can no longer work, and what it's going to do is enjoying its left days, somewhat similar to nursing home. In this case, pasture is somewhat connected with death.
