Writing Activity 2, December 7th to December 9th(One article available)

Guys I know English writing has become more and more an issue. Having seen this, I want to run a series of writing activities for the following month. Feel free to participate. ![]() Just keep in mind. No matter how much you read, how much you listen, if you never ever actually write something, there is no way for you to write a good article in examination condition. If you do not want to write anything but have the proofreading ability, you are also more than welcomed to pick up others' mistakes ![]() All the writing activities will be put in a folder I made. If I've got enough time, I can do some proofreading for you but it's not guaranteed. I will highlight the articles I think highly of. Activity two: Some people think that only staff who worked in a company for a long time should be promoted to a higher position. What's your opinion? Here is an article I wrote about one year ago. You guys can still spot many problems. In some corporations, it is quite common to see that those who are in charge tend to be those who stay in the company long enough. Behind such phenomenon always lies a well-rooted view that considerable working experience is the prerequisite of promotion. However, this view also sparks some controversies because an increasing number of people begin to be aware of the limitation of this kind of promotion “institution”. One’s staying in one company long enough will undoubtedly give the person enough experience to resolve different thorny dilemmas, which is one of the most important characteristics of a team leader. It is normal to see that new employees on most of the occasions in a company typically have a poor performance, which always leads to the dissatisfaction of higher-ups as well as clients, and meanwhile which influences the future of the whole company. Improving working performance undoubtedly requires time, so it is understandable to some extent that some companies give priority to old workers when considering promotion. However, limitations of this promotion “institution” are at the same time quite evident. One's trait as well as the prospect of the company with other similar factors should be taken into consideration when he is promoted, and any simple evaluation as well as hasty decision of it should be avoided. Keeping balance among these factors is of great importance, because it guarantees the innovation of the idea brought by freshmen as well as reduces the error rates to the credit of old workers. Attaching too much importance will inevitably upset this balance, then ruining the prospect of the company. From my perspective, working experience is one of the most important evaluations when considering promotion, but it should never be the only criterion of elevation, or it is going to be devastating. One who has been in a company for a long time shows his or her loylaty for the company, thereby bringing multiple benefits for the company such as a stable relationship among employees. It is naturally that some people maintain that only staff who worked in a company for a long time should be promoted to be higher position. Personally. I toally disagree with the above statement. The following are my reasons. Firstly, the bottle line is tthat employees should bear excellent performances in the company when a company promote a person. It is impossible that Bill Gate at microsoft company will promote them if engineers seldom make contributions to the company., in turn, they will alway become odinary people who everyone can neglect in the company. It is hardly to imagine for us that Jack Ma who has runed his one of biggest B2B companies can promote ones who worked for a long time to be higher position than those have alway novel ideas but are greeners. Secondly, to say only staff who worked in a company for a lone time should be promoted to higher position does not hold. For a smart boss. Everyone in his company will be equally considered to promote to be higher postion. Admittedly, employees who worked in a company for a long time, have much more exprience. Therefore, in terms of experience, they are superior to others in the company. But compared with these employees, those who make much contributes to the company should not neglect. To conclude, I prefer to agree that employees who worked in a company for a long time are more likely to reach a high postion. |
