我倾向于第一个主题，原因。。。。。。。。但是如果你希望我选择第二个主题，我也愿意接受你的安排。
I prefer to work on the frist topic, 原因。。。。。。。。。。Certainly, If you want me to work on the second topic, I am also willing to accept your arrangement.

不知这是否是给导师写的信。大概可以这样写：
1. If you approve of my preference, shall I write a research proposal?
2. I'd prefer to work on the first topic because.../或者原因较多的话，这样写：I'd like to work on Topic One due to the following reasaons: First,.... Second,...    On the other hand, if you wish me to deal with Topic two, I'd also be happy to accept the assignment.
