Phosphorus and fluorine atoms were treated with a Stuttgart¨CDresden pseudopotential in combination with its adapted basis set augmented by a set of polarization function d. Geometry optimizations were carried out without any symmetry restrictions, and the nature of the extrema was verified with analytical frequency calculations. The intrinsic reaction coordinate was followed using the IRC technique for all located transition states.
