化工工艺设计概论是为应用化学、材料化学和化学等专业开设的一门任意选修课，它是为从事化学研究、项目开发、工程技术管理、项目设计及进一步学习的应用性较强的技术基础课程。内容包括化工设计原则，化工工艺流程设计、化工工艺计算、化工工艺装置布置、化工设备选型、化工工艺设计的方法和步骤等。通过对本课程的学习，使学生能综合运用已学过的专业知识，结合生产实际，培养学生分析和解决工业实际问题的能力。
