武威市地处河西走廊东端，南依祁连山，北靠内蒙古。境内地形复杂，南高北低。盛行西北偏西风 Wuwei city is located at the east end of the Hexi Corridor, next to the Qilian mountain in south and Inner Mongolia in north. The configuration of the lands are compolicated, high in south and low in north. West-northwest winds dominate. |

Its terrain is varied, generally sloping from the south to the north. Within its territory the prevailing winds are from northwest by west. |
