【Funny】WaterMelon, Xigua or Shuigua
|
Now I am eating watermelon and I find that this kind of melon is really full of water. English are clever to create this word. I think we Chinese name it Xigua (西瓜) just because we brought it from the Western world (actually Africa), just like tomato, i.e. Xihongshi (西红柿). If we Chinese were the earliest human beings to plant the watermelon, we may call it Shuigua (水瓜)?? Do you think so?
