Into the mixture of 80.0 mL of deionized water and 10.0 mL of anhydrous ethanol was dissolved 9.16 g (30.0 mmol) of sodium oleate at 80 °C under stirring to give a light yellow solution (A). A 1.96 g (10.0 mmol) portion of InCl3·4H2O was dissolved into the mixture of 10.0 mL of deionized water and 4 mL of anhydrous ethanol to form a colorless solution (B). Solution B was slowly added to solution A to produce the opalescent precipitate. The precipitate was washed with deionized water several times and dried at 60 °C in air for 30 min and then at 75 °C in vacuum for 24 h to give brown stick powders
