running hot=chips become hot when they are running; curb是动词，表示限制、约束，主语是“Today’s chips are power hogs, running hot”这一事实; for后面长长的部分修饰demand, demand for, 只因其太长，故放在后面; digital data from 后面的各部分是并列关系，分门别类列出了数字数据的来源; loom是动词，表示某个问题显得重要、突出。 试译： 当今的芯片很耗电，运行时易发热，使其使用量受到限制。随着来自传感器、在线商务、社交网络、视频流及公司、政府数据库的数字数据量激增，对计算能力的要求越来越高，芯片的这些不足日益凸显。 |
