请大家帮我看看这么回复恰当吗 已有1人参与

原来申请了这位外导，他问了我一些问题，现在表示同意申请。不过在这期间我已经拿到了别的邀请函，现在想给他写信说明，请帮我看看这么写合适吗。毕竟当时自己表示很想去该课题组，我主要想真诚地表达歉意，可英语不太好怕写得不合适。 外导： I will recommend you for admission to Duke as a visiting scholar in my group. Is your funding for one year? If so, is January 16, 2015 to Jan. 15, 2016 a good time for you to visit? It takes 3 months to process, at least. 我： Thank you very much for considering my application. It's a great honor for me to be permitted to join your group. But I have received an invitation letter from the other group last week. Their researches more nicely match with mine. Since I just have one year funding and I am expected to produce publication during the precious year, I think that group may be more suitable for me. I am truly sorry for any inconvenience that my application caused. Thank you again for your kindly consideration. I hope to express my gratitude to you in person in the future. |

Dear Professor XXX: I really appreciate it for considering my application. It's great honor for me to be admitted into your group. However, last week I have received an offer letter from other group whose research match with mine more closely. Since I just have funding for one year during which I am expected to deliver paper, that group may be more suitable for me. I am truly sorry for any inconvenience that my application has caused.
