This is a numerical simulation of the flow field as well as combustion inside a combustor. The flow field as well as combustion characteristics are changed with different burners ejecting a gaseous fuel, and the numerical results are used to identify the optimum burner design. Even though the CFD method is widely used for burner design purpose but accuracy of the numerical simulation is most essential. This work is solely numerical in nature, without any experimental investigation to validate the numerical data in order to support the conclusions drawn. The Authors should note that for the references quoted in the introduction section, not only CFD simulations but also experimental studies are reported in the literature. In addition, it seems that in the model validation section of this work, the numerical model predctions and experimental data obtained from another combustor are compared. The use of the same k-¦Å turbulence model and PDF model in the present numerical model which is validated against a different combustor does not guarantee the validity of the present study. Therefore, very strong validation of the numerical model for the combustor reported in this paper is needed to support the interesting findings obtained.
