| I don't think the South should be centrally heated, firstly, the south is not so cold as the north, we can survive the winter without heating. If we couldn't stand the cold, we could turn to airconditioner for help, one of the reason that the north is be centrally heated is airconditioner can not work under -5℃. And then, it will take time, energy and money to build the system from nothing, these kind of invest could be used to improve other things that affect our people's benefits, saying education and health care, and so on. At last, I think it's good to keep everyone warmer, but not good to break the diversities and differences between the south and the north. |

I once heard a saying, the cold in the north is physical attacks, which can be defensed by wearing more clothes, however, the cold in the south is magic attacks, it's useless even if you wear more and more clothes...  |

for those dont agree, send them to the south for a winter, give them as much clothes as they want, see how they react. for those who concern about money, that is a central government investment, just like invest in lots of highway and bridges, those are called infrastructure investment. it will creat job oppertunities and GDP growth for sure. we have so many solar cell panels, it is a matter of central government policy to subsidize those solar panels and to boost another technology called solar thermal. then there will not need much of electricity or other format of energy, except the sun. what is the purpose of development? for better life quality of the people, right? then make them feel more confortable is the #1 priority. For your information, single room air condition is very very inefficient in terms heating. that is a stone hit many birds situation. |

| I think it all depends on where the "south" here means.If it means the places like Guang Zhou,Hai Nan and so on,where the weather is always warm ,I think these areas should not be centrally heated as there is no need.While,in some places which is not so "south",like Hang Zhou,and Su Zhou, winter is really cold and snow always comes.These places need to be centrally heated. |

I don't know what to say. It's no doubt that we those live in the South are looking forward to sharing a warm winter inside like that in the North. The llingering coldness iin my dorm these days can kill me anytime, especially in the morning and the similar situation happens in my hometown, Jiangxi, which make me call back the college days spent in Zhengzhou time after time. But from the views of the design of central heating systems and its effect on the enviroment of atmosphere, we should be prudent. I know these clear for I was majored in HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air conditioning) as an undergraduate student. Anyway, I hope the measures for heating residentially or in the colleges can be improved. Maybe central heating is not the mere way out.  |

I am in south of china, it's snowed last night and the weather forcast says the rainy and snowy will continue for a few days. This morning our lab's air conditioning system was broken and the room temperature only has 6   , so I agree...... |

| I born and live in the north, just take a businiss trip to the south occasionally. so I never know the cold in the south winter. However, reasons that shouldn't be centrally heated should be told to the common people. Because it is the problem that our people concern about, and it is also the responsibility of the government. Today our society has developed a lot already, our living condition should be improved. |

| This matter cannot be settled in a simple way, just the two choices yes or no. The south china is a large area, and different places of it has their own climates. Just think of Hainan province is centrally heated, it is ridiculous. So our ZHUAN JIAs should investigate sufficiently before making the plan. |
