A recent example of the grafting-from technique is the preparation of oligo- hydroxyamide (oHA)-functionalized MWNTs for nanotube–poly(p-phenylene benzobisoxazole) composites. In this case pristine MWNTs were first oxidized to MWNT-COOH andthen functionalized to MWNTCOCl with acyl chloride. Then MWNT-COCl was copolymerized with oHA to producecorresponding grafted MWNTs (MWNT-oHA). |
