[交流] PhD position 已有2人参与

In line with the overall mission of the Directorate-General Joint Research Centre
(JRC) of the European Commission (EC), the Institute for Energy and Transport
(IET) provides scientific and technological contributions to different stages of
European energy and transport policy-making on issues related to technology
innovation, environmental protection, energy security, and sustainable development
where a European perspective and independence of commercial and national
interests are essential.
Electricity and hydrogen, in a complementary way, have been earmarked as
alternative energy carriers and considered essential for implementing the
transition of the European energy and transport system from a fossil fuel based
system to a more sustainable lower carbon system.
In this context, the Institute (http://iet.jrc.ec.europa.eu) will increase its support
contribution to electrification of transport policies by means of reference
laboratories for the assessment of electricity based transport technologies
including fuel cells and hydrogen supporting the development of European and
international standardisation and regulations.
The current position is within the FCPoint Action (fuel cell power chain
integration & testing, http://fcpoint.jrc.ec.europa.eu) of the Cleaner Energy Unit
(CEU) of the Institute, a very dynamic, multilingual and collaborative working
environment.
This position concerns mainly fuel cells performance and durability validation
testing and benchmarking according to testing procedures and test protocols
using the test facilities of the Institute and comprises specifically
• The performance of research work related to projects and
institutional activities.
• Regular reporting of project results in presentations, technical reports
and peer-reviewed scientific publications.
• Regular scanning of the relevant scientific and technical literature.
The research work performed is expected to lead to a scientific publication.
We are seeking a highly motivated individual having a master degree or a PhD (as
stipulated in the Rules governing the Traineeship Scheme) in electrochemistry,
energy or mechanical engineering and related fields. Knowledge in energy
conversion technologies including fuel cells and relevant research experience
(following the award of a university degree) in fuel cells or other electrochemical
energy technologies is highly desired. Laboratory and modeling experiences are
assets while familiarity with safety, pre-normative research and standardization
issues is advantageous. Proficient use of English (B2 level according to the Common
European Framework of Reference for Languages), the ability to carry out
independent research and effectively communicate results in technical reports,
presentations and scientific publications is a must. Also, the candidate should have
good communication and inter-personnel skills, and team capability. The working
environment is very dynamic, multilingual and collaborative.

Further information is available at http://iet.jrc.ec.europa.eu/trainees
