Thank you for submitting your manuscript for publication in Energy & Fuels. I understand that you have explored a novel way of treating the side stream from the Fischer Tropsch process. However, before I can send the manuscript out for review, I must ask you to revise it to address two issues that I am certain will concern the reviewers.

First, I must ask you to report the conversion data as reaction rates, normalized by the number of ostensible catalytic sites (i.e., turnover rates). Preferably, the kinetics results would be captured as rate equations in which the Arrhenius parameters (normalized pre-exponential factor, apparent activation energy) could be compare with those expected from the likely rate determining step and with those obtained in other laboratories. Hydrogen or CO titration are the usual ways of counting sites in catalysts where the active site is presumed to be a Pt group metal.

Second, especially because you have studied a liquid phase reaction, I must ask you to present evidence that the reaction rates have not been influenced by the rates of transport. A Koros-Nowak or Madon-Boudart test would suffice.

You will understand that I am striving to archive results that can be readily compared across laboratories and that bear on the underlying molecular phenomena.
