I gave you life, but cannot live it for you. I can give you directions, but I cannot be there to lead you. I can take you to church, but I cannot make you believe. I can buy you beautiful clothes, but I cannot make you beautiful inside. I can teach you respect, but I cannot force you to show honor. I can advise you about friends, but I cannot choose them for you. | Mothers give us lives. But some people won't cherish their lives, which is a pity! I often think about the meaning or value of life, which brings me great grief in the end. I seems quite true that before becoming a beautiful butterfly, a worm has to stand the pain in the dark cocoon. But I won't give up! |
