I gave you life, but cannot live it for you. I can give you directions, but I cannot be there to lead you. I can take you to church, but I cannot make you believe. I can give you love, but I cannot force it upon you. 我给了你生命，但我不能为你而活。 我能够给你的人生指明方向，但我不能为你领航。 我可以带你去教堂，但我不能改变你的信仰。 我可以给你买漂亮的衣服，但我不能给你内在的美。 我可以给你爱，但我不能把爱强加于你。 I can teach you to share, but I cannot make you unselfish. I can teach you respect, but I cannot force you to show honor. I can advise you about friends, but I cannot choose them for you. I can tell you about alcohol & drugs, but I cannot say "no" for you. 我可以教你学会分享， 但我不能使你慷慨无私。 我可以教你学会尊敬，但我不会强迫你显示敬意。 我可以给你交友的建议，但我不能为你选择朋友。 我可以给你讲讲酒和毒品， 但我不能代替你说“不”。 I can tell you about lofty goals, but I cannot achieve them for you. | Mothers give us lives. But some people won't cherish their lives, which is a pity! I often think about the meaning or value of life, which brings me great grief in the end. I seems quite true that before becoming a beautiful butterfly, a worm has to stand the pain in the dark cocoon. But I won't give up! |
