Furthermore the main map is too small in comparison to the overview map of China. I suggest an image composition closer to this one here (keep in mind that this is just a rough sketch I put together in 5 min, the final map should look better / more polished that that): Reducing the size of the overview map allows the real map to be bigger, which increases the readability. I also suggest to reduce the intensity of the land use signatures – the lines (the river and the catchments of the reservoirs) should be clearly visible while the land use should function as background information. Probably your GIS software does not support such a graphical finesse. In such a case it might help to export several versions of the map (one with the land use and one without it) and overlay both maps in an image processing software (e.g. Photoshop or GIMP). Using layer transparency you can easily achieve the desired effect. 论文的部分审稿意见一知半解，担心理解错误，求翻译，谢谢！ |
