In a typical synthesis, 0.293 g (1 mmol) of InCl3$4H2Owas dissolved in 5 mL of triethylene glycol (TEG) to be a clear solution under ultrasonic oscillation using an ordinary ultrasonic cleaner. The InCl3 solution of TEG was then transferred into the tripod glass vessel, in which the Cu foil coated with Cu(OH)2 film was immersed horizontally with the film side upward. Meanwhile, 0.376 g (5 mmol) of thioacetamide (TAA) was loaded into the Teflon-liner and dissolved in 15 mL TEG with stirring. The tripod glass vessel with Cu foil and InCl3 solution was then carefully deposited in autoclave. Hence, Cu foil and InCl3 solution could not be mixed with TAA solution.
