There are various chemical substances in pharmacological studies were investigated by animal laboratory tests conducted in early. For instance: The leaf and bark extracts of EUO were most effective in anti-hypertensive effect using content determination methods, to identify that the some biologically active derivatives, lignans, iridoids, flavonoids, terpenoids and phenolic derivatives, such as catechins (CS), geniposidic acid (GPA), chlorogenic acid (GCA) and geniposide (GPS). |

Especially eucommia ulmoides (EUO) works well in reducing high blood pressure. Early experiments on animals had explored its chemical ingredients in pharmacological perspective. For instance, by various means of ingredients testing, it was proved that extracts of EUO leaf and bark are most effective in anti-hypertensive and affirmed some biologically active derivatives such as lignans, iridoids, flavonoids, terpenoids and phenolic derivatives, such as catechins (CS), geniposidic acid (GPA), chlorogenic acid (GCA) and geniposide (GPS). |

Particularly, Eucommia ulmoides (EUO) has good anti-hypertensive effects.
