Particularly, Eucommia ulmoides (EUO) has good anti-hypertensive effects. Investigations on various chemical substances in pharmacological studies were carried out through earlier animal laboratory tests. Especially eucommia ulmoides (EUO) works well in reducing high blood pressure. Early experiments on animals had explored its chemical ingredients in pharmacological perspective. For instance, by various means of ingredients testing, it was proved that extracts of EUO leaf and bark are most effective in anti-hypertensive and affirmed some biologically active derivatives such as lignans, iridoids, flavonoids, terpenoids and phenolic derivatives, such as catechins (CS), geniposidic acid (GPA), chlorogenic acid (GCA) and geniposide (GPS). |
