最近投了一篇文章，为了排除试样表层氧化物对测试结果的影响，我用XPS对试样表面进行逐层剥离分析，XPS结果如下图所示。据此，我判断表层无氧化物产生。而审稿人却说：Now the samples were Ni and it is impossible for Ni to have no oxide on the surface. Surely the XPS did not pick this up, but such a statement is obviously wrong.
请问我该如何回复审稿人，或者能否通过其他的方法来对表层氧化物进行测定与分析。
