[交流] A MARIE CURIE POSITION FOR AN EARLY STAGE RESEARCHER AT TUM 已有3人参与

Applicants are invited for a PhD position (36 month contracts) to work in OLIMPIA, Initial Training Network on Optoelectronics integrated with Living Systems for Neuroscience Investigations and Applications.

This Early Stage Researcher (ESR) position is part of a training network initiative (ITN OLIMPIA, Project number 316832), built on research and development of innovative organic optoelectronic devices interfaced and integrated with living systems. The living systems of choice are neural cells (glia and neuron) that will be interfaced and integrated in vitro and in vivo with different organic electronic and optoelectronic devices. The major objective of OLIMPIA is to establish an innovative training program aimed at enabling and supporting the development of a novel supradisciplinary field that combines the worlds of organic optoelectronics with the one of neuroscience.

Description:
Technische Universität München (TUM) is one of Europe’s top universities. It is committed to excellence in research and teaching, interdisciplinary education and the active promotion of promising young scientists. TUM has set up the International Graduate School of Science and Engineering (IGSSE) with funds from the Excellence Initiative. PhD candidates work in interdisciplinary project teams focused on engineering and the natural sciences.
The research training will focus on the realization of novel, conformable, soft and optimally-shaped organic photodiodes (OPDs), for interfacing with neurons or nerve bundles, directly or by integration in microfluidic systems. The elected candidate will participate in the activities of the Initial Training Network OLIMPIA including research collaborations and possibilities of secondments with 8 European partners including 2 industrial parthers.

Currently we are looking for:
Early Stage Researcher Marie Curie ITN Training Program
Nr of positions available: 1.

Expertise and experience required:
We are looking for a PhD candidate with a strong background in Organic Electronics and Biomaterials. Basic knowledge of organic photodiodes, their fabrication steps and characterization issues is a compulsory requirement.
He/she can demonstrate the ability to work independently and in coordination with other participants of multidisciplinary projects.
The candidate should also be hard worker, well organized and creative. He should able to use his/her skills in combination with organic materials and related fabrication techniques, analyses of optoelectronic devices and their characterization. The candidate should be highly motivated to learn and perform fabrication procedures based on techniques dealing with solution-processable materials.

Main training field and skills:
• Organic photodetector (solid and solid-liquid) devices suitable for operation in physiological aqueous environment.
• Experienced in electro-optical characterization methods and semiconductor technologies.
• Organic photodetector devices providing transduction of neural cells bioelectrical activity in vitro.
• Organic photodetector devices providing transduction of neural cells bioelectrical activity in vivo.
• Quality control systems and procedures.

Benefits:
The trainees are integrated into various aspects of the TUM Graduate School and International Graduate School for Science and Engineering (IGSSE), benefitting from the participation in a variety of subject-related and transferable skills courses. Additionally there is an extensive social program available featuring several excursions to scenic attractions around Bavaria, trips to concerts and other events as well as regular get-togethers. An exceptional promotion of interdisciplinary and international networks encourages and supports the personal development of every doctorate at the TUM and provides each one with a lot of contacts both within the TUM and worldwide. In summary, we offer an inspiring and innovative working environment within an excellent university!

Requirements:
