Where is the balance point between being low-carbon and the quality of life

At present, it is beneficial to llive a low-carbon life to the environment. Such as when washing, use less water, when going to a place, take a bus instead of driving a car, or you can go there by bike, or even go there on foot. However, as you live a low-carbon life, the quality of your life will be affected.  When you become more low-carbon, your life becomes less convenient. Take the transportation as an example. Going to a place on foot is nearly the most low-carbon way, but meanwhile it is the most unconvenient way. You have to walk in the natural air, it may be hot, cold or even humid. There may be many dirty particles in the air, you skin may also be bited by insects. Furthermore, much more time is needed compared with bicycling or driving. If you go there by bike, the time needed is much shorter. But you may still meet the unconvenience of rain, cold or hot air, and the insect. It is less low-carbon than walking, because more energy is needed to make a bicycle. If you go there by bus, you can stay in the bus with clean and comfortable air, it is also faster than bicycling and walking. But, the bus can not drive you to your destination, you have to walk. Compared with walking and bicycling, you need more energy, but compared with driving yourself, you need less energy. Driving yourself to the destination may be the most convenient way to go to your destination. It is the fastest, coziest way. You share the space of a car with yourself, you step in the car from the step of your house, and step out the car at the step of your destination house. However, this way is also the most un-low-carbon way of transportation, the gas of the car, the space of the car and the space it occupies on the road is only used by one person. And, much more engery is needed to make a car than a bicycle. Another interesting example may be bathing. Too often bathing consumes more water, but less bathing may make yourself stink.  So, where is the balance point?  This is a question. |

I think it is up to you. If you live a lown-carbon life, you may feel very comfortable. And this is the high-qulity life in my opinion. |

This is really a question. But in my perspective view, the low carbon life which we advocate is extremely urgent thing. Our surroundings has suffered so serious hurt, we must take charge of improve our survival environment in order to our next generation. surely, if you would like to go far away, we can't go on foot. In a word, we should try our best to do it. |

lliving a low-carbon life recently is the focus topic not only in our daily life, but also in the national strategy of ecnomic development. someone said that there is a contradiction between the high speed of econmic development and low carbon life. how to find the balance of them which is the difficulty. there are something to live a low-carbon life for us. such as taking bused instead rising privacy car, taking pocket to buy daily life subjects insted non-degradable plastic bag. let,us live more healthy life and support to live low-carbon life |

Yes, the low-carbon life and the comfortable life is very difficulte with the fast speed of the economy. Most of the countries are advocate to live in a low-carbon life. But for the countries the economy's development is necessary. TBut the economy's development will lead to the pollution of the circumstance without questions. This question is also very difficulty to solve for all the countries now. But for some developed countries, they have made some laws to restrict the very serious polluted companies to bulid on their domain. So many of the serious polluted companies transfered to the developing countries, because they did't have so many destrict for those companies. But now the world countries also make some pollution index to pass the buck to those developing countries. So the low-carbon life are infact on all over the world. But we also live in the same world, what I can do is do sth I can to make my circumambient environment becoming beter and beter later! |
