Rate and distribution of mutations of less than 5% survival rate was analysed. The results indicated that, the total lethal mutation (suvival rate<1%) per generation for D. melanogaster 2:3 chromosomes is about 0.0182. This estimation is a little higher than that by previously studies (about 0.015). Furthermore. We found that as survival rate decreased from 5% to 0, number of observed lines increased. We then discussed this distribution pattern. |

| Survival-rate-correlated recessive mutations on the 2:3 translocated balancer chromosomes (covering about 80% of the Drosophila genome) of Drosophila melanogaster F1 generations were screened by applying a large number of families. The frequency distribution of the recessive mutations with survival rate of 5% was statistically analyzed. The results indicated that, the mutation rate of the lethal mutation (survival rate smaller than 1%) on 2:3 chromosomes of Drosophila melanogaster is 0.0182; and in the mutation with the survival rate of 0-5%, along with the decrease of the survival rate, the number of the observed families is in a progressive increase tendency. A foundation is laid for researching the correlation between recessive mutation and survival rate of balancer chromosomes of Drosophila. |
