Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Advertisements are a waste of company's money and energy because people know what they want to buy.

Public sight is flooded by advertisements involving diversity of aspects nowadays. Arguing for advertisements futile are those who hold the opinion that people select goods along with their situations not influenced by advertisements. I disagree with the standpoint and will examine below several specific reasons for it according to which I consider, currently, are the most common viewpoints.

To start with, an impressive advertisement is able to persuade people to recognize companies' productions. As is known to all, publicity has contributed considerably to the market proportion. For example, Mc. Donald's is one of the most popular fast food due to the reputation generated by daily advertisements. My colleagues often buy it firstly when they engage in work without time to cook or eat at a restaurant even though there are various fast foods in market. The reason is that Mc. Donald's has imposed consciousness into the hearts of clients who hunger and urge to get food. Obviously, this kind of advertisement should not be a exception but general cases.

Another crucial reason is that not all people confirm what they plan to buy, especially children range from five to ten years old. For example, children watching TV demand their parents to buy hats advertised on TV which they think is very beautiful. Of course, maybe parents have bought plenty of hats to children as gifts. The same logic can be applied in girls who are eager to become personable. A distinctive frock showed on advertisement is capable of attracting remarkable attention from younger girls who originally have no desires at all to add any clothes.

Admittedly, I cannot overlook the fact that not every advertisements are influential to people. For example, my friend John wants to purchase a car for driving to work conveniently instead of riding crowed subway. Although advertisements for SUV are showed on different channels all the time, a small car fulfilling basic requirements is put in the first place of his list of choices. It is not intelligent to drive a SUV, also consuming more fuel, on the congested ways to company during the rush hours especially in large cities such as Beijing and Shanghai.

In a nutshell, advertisements are essential solutions for companies to enlarge popularity to public and conduct eyes of people on their commodities. Undoubtedly, benefits acquiring from advertisements are overwhelming more than the expense invested on them.
