1¡¢This ¡®normaliazation¡¯ strategy has become a necessary process to accurately baseline log based estimates of key petrophysical properties£¨ÑÒʯÎïÀíÐÔÖÊ£© and speaks to a clear need for the creation and subsequent agreement in industry upon standard materials, either naturally occurring or synthetic, to calibrate shale core analysis and to reduce uncertainty and errors in core ¡®ground truth¡¯ datasets. 2¡¢This workflow has become an important aspect of the exploration and development of different producing gas shale assets as most oil and gas operators in a given region quite commonly are left to work with core analysis databases that include data from all or some of the three main core analysis vendors that are currently commercially available. 3¡¢Very significant differences has been noted and documented in many of these same areas (Paassey et al., 2010; sondergeld et al.,2010), but work is presented here to accurately relate these datdsets to one another in a robust fashion as limited data availability has forced utilization of all available core analysis data, regardless of vendor. 4¡¢The RR6 sample was atypical of the shale reservoirs£¨´¢²ã£© tested in the study and likely represent a restricted volume of reservoir material in the total shale interval of interest that approaches tight carbonate£¨ÖÂÃÜ̼ËáÑÎÑÒ£© in nature and may not be applicable to the approach presented here. лл´ó¼Ò¡£ |
