Although information technology (IT) has been declared the primary driver for the COS educational services, the very potential of IT has not been fully understood and mastered. There is a possibility that the technology when misused can actually cause a great danger to the educational system. Even if teachers are trained they will never be sophisticated to the point of understanding every single aspect of such complex systems (Johnson, 1997). Because of the charter school environment educational system delivery must rely on the electronic means of communications. Another layer of complexity is how teachers use what is later described in this research as a global information sharing system (ISS) when delivering academic instructions. Since all teachers may have their own way of dealing with information, the entire system needs to merge all information into a single access interface. |
