SAED analysis was attempted but successful because the carbon core is too large

- Don't write "We"   Scientific work is not subjective
- Don't write "do ___"   Scientists might talk like that casually in the lab, but scientific writing should be more formal
- Don't just write  "SAED"  and assume the reader knows exactly what that means  Instead write "S__ A__ E__ D__  (SAED) analysis..."

- Would the carbon core be smaller - just the right size for SAED" - if the specimen had been prepared more carefully ??  I was careful to not include the word  "specimen"  in the above sentence, but someone already experienced in SAED might notice

  Note what I wrote about sample or specimen preparation

  IMHO, "failed" is too general a term
  "SAED results were unattainable"  is short and sweet, but may not escape careful scrutiny of someone experienced in SAED
