ABSTRACT
Study on the Synthesis and Property of the Surfactant Rosin-Polyethylene Glycol-Citric Acid Ester

Zinc oxide being catalyst, the main raw material rosin(RO) and PEG6000 are catalyzed to form an intermediates, polyethylene glycol ester of rosin(RPGE), which then reacts with citric acid, leading to formation of a new type of surfactant, rosin-polyethylene glycol-citric acid ester (RPGCE). Discussion on the best conditions for the synthesis of surfactants, the best conditions for synthesis of RPGE : RO and the ratio of amount of substance of PEG6000 to 1:1. 6, the reaction temperature is 270 ¡æ, response time is 3h; Best conditions for the synthesis of RPGCE: reaction temperature 150 ¡æ, response time 2.5h. Discusse the surface tension of surfactant (¦Ã), the critical micelle concentration (CMC), emulsion, foam and so on. Results indicate that both intermediates and objective products are new type of nonionic surfactant with excellent performance . ABSTRACT
The Synthesis and Property Study of the Surfactant Rosin-Polyethylene Glycol-Citric Acid Ester

  Polyethylene glycol ester of rosin(RPGE) is produced by the  reaction between themain raw material rosin(RO) and PEG6000  with zinc oxide catalysis  . It reacts with citric acid, leading to formation of a new type of surfactant, rosin-polyethylene glycol-citric acid ester (RPGCE). The best conditions to synthesis  the two surfactants were discussed. The condition for  RPGE is that  the reaction of RO and  PEG6000 is controlled for 3h at 270 ¡æ, with  the ratio of amount of substanceo  1:1. 6, and the reaction time can be controlled for 2.5h at 150 ¡æ for RPGCE  . The surface tension of surfactant (¦Ã), the critical micelle concentration (CMC), emulsion, foam,ect were also discussed . Results indicate that both intermediates and objective products are new type of nonionic surfactants with excellent performance .
