投了一篇文章，编辑的回信中有这么一段话：the authors have done a very good job indeed in terms of their response. It adds quite considerably to the literature on this topcic and it has some nice explanation of the results obtained. 大致明白“It adds quite considerably to the literature”是什么意思，但是准确应该怎样翻译？请帮忙给该句一个中文翻译
