We receive many more good papers than we can publish and the Board must carefully weigh which papers merit external review. The expert who served as editor concluded that although this work is interesting, it does not have the broad appeal needed for PNAS and is better suited for a more specialized journal. Once a paper has been declined, it may not be resubmitted through an Academy member. Note that the PNAS License to Publish conveyed at initial submission is terminated. We receive many manuscripts whose subject matter is more specialized than is appropriate for publication in PNAS and I believe that this is such a manuscript. I would suggest submitting it to Geomorphology or to a similar journal that covers this aspect of surficial geology. Thank you for considering PNAS for publication. 3。一点感觉：1.PNAS的投稿程序实在太繁琐了；2。PNAS和NS一样，也追求borad significance。我的专业方向在PNAS给定的学科分类里面竟然 找不到合适的位置，检索了PNAS，竟然没有找到一篇正统的我这个方向的文章。想在上面发文章难，太难了。 |
