The fatigue crack propagation threshold seems to be defined by the condition that
the cyclic plastic zone at the crack tip is of the order of grain size , and the influence of the mean stress seems to be defined by the maximum stress intensity factor (Kmax) through its influence on crack closure behaviour, the crack-tip blunting phenomenon, the crack-tip environment and the monotonic plastic zone.

最后半句还可翻译为:

疲劳裂纹传播极限可以被近似定义为裂纹间断的循环塑形区达到了晶粒尺度的条件,平均应力的影响被为对裂纹闭合行为、裂纹尖端钝化现象及裂纹尖端环境和单调塑形区产生影响的最大应力强度因数。
